PhD Events Member Meetings

Starting a doctoral project at a new university, in a new city and possibly a new country can be challenging. The HGGS welcomes its members from Germany and from many other countries each semester not only at academic events, but also at social gatherings and cultural events.

Formats include an entertaining tour of the old town and the university, museum visits, or excursions to nearby points of interest. Heidelberg is also surrounded by rolling hills and long stretches of forest, the famous Odenwald. Since 2013, we are regularly inviting interested members to come out for short walks or longer hikes through the forest and not seldom end the excursion at a country pub.
