HGGS International Mobility
The HGGS regularly invites its members to participate in international courses and schools at the 4EU+ and LERU universities as well as at other partner universities in Europe and abroad. Travel grants are available through the Graduate Academy, the 4EU+ network and Heidelberg University.
Incoming scholars can be funded by the HGGS for presentations at the Forum or other academic events. Since 2018, the South-South-North Network of the HGGS has also been hosting outstanding doctoral and postdoctoral scholars from Africa, Asia, South America, the Caribbean and other world regions. They have been funded through scholarships granted by the DAAD and the Baden-Württemberg Foundation, with the kind support of the International Office at Heidelberg University.
The HGGS community comprises doctoral researchers from 30 different countries and many scholars travel abroad for international conferences, field work or archive work during their second year. Upon returning to Heidelberg University, they share their experiences with HGGS members at the Forum and in the HGGS newsletter.
