International Partnerships Cooperation
The HGGS serves six large faculties at Heidelberg University and shares the international networks in which doctoral research in Heidelberg is embedded. It actively integrates doctoral researchers into the international academic communities of Heidelberg University and invites them to participate in courses and international conferences of the 4EU+ and LERU universities as well as the HeKKSaGOn university consortium every semester.
Over the past ten years, the HGGS has signed co-operation agreements with leading universities in Africa, Latin America and the Caribbean as well as in Europe. Pilot projects on best practices in graduate schools were carried out by the HGGS in a EU-funded project with partner universities in Finland, the Netherlands, the UK, France, Hungary, Poland and Belgium. Two important sub-projects of the HGGS were the supervision of the doctoral phase as well as career paths and alumni dialogues. Doctoral candidates in the HGGS are actively involved in exchanges with colleagues from international universities and regularly accept invitations from partner universities for events or research purposes.
