Doctoral Candidate Saeed Baghizadeh

Saeed Baghizade is a dedicated archaeologist with a profound foundation in philosophy and prehistoric archaeology. He earned a B.A. in Philosophy in 2007, which deeply influenced his intellectual perspective, and an M.A. in Prehistoric Archaeology in 2011. His thesis, *“Survey and Analysis of Settlement Pattern of Dargaz Plain from Neolithic Period to End of Iron Age IV,”* explored settlement dynamics over millennia.

Saeed has participated in extensive archaeological fieldwork across Iran, gaining hands-on experience in uncovering the region’s rich history. Alongside research, he has taught Iranian history at prominent institutions such as Taavon UAST and the Eqbal Lahoori Institute, while contributing to academic publishing and journal editing.

His academic focus has evolved to explore the intersection of Political Philosophy and Archaeology, specifically examining the “Socio-political Landscape of the Late 4th Millennium in the Northern Central Iranian Plateau”. His proposed Ph.D. research aims to investigate the impact of the Late Uruk expansion on this region, with a focus on MeymanatAbad, a pivotal archaeological site. This research seeks to address critical gaps in understanding the emergence of complex societies, proto-urban development, and the role of trade networks in shaping socio-political systems. Saeed aspires to shed light on early societal complexities and contribute to broader discussions in archaeology and political history.
